The reasoning is by appearance and retail category rather than by material. Stone cleaners are formulated around the properties of calcareous and siliceous stone — pH restraint to protect carbonate, and penetrating sealers for a porous structure. Engineered quartz has neither the carbonate chemistry nor the porosity, so the formulation is solving problems the surface does not have while being untested against the one vulnerability it does have, which is the resin binder.
