Terms of use
The terms on which CleaningHQ is provided, what it is and is not, and how its content may be used.
CleaningHQ explains; it does not supervise
Everything here is general information about cleaning, materials and chemistry. It is not advice about your specific item, and it cannot see what you are looking at.
- Manufacturer instructions govern. Where your appliance, garment or surface has its own guidance, follow that rather than this.
- Absence of a warning is not an all-clear.The catalogue is small. “Not established” means nobody has checked, not that it is fine.
- This is not medical advice. If someone has inhaled fumes or has a chemical on their skin or in their eyes and is unwell, that is an emergency — use emergency services, not a website.
- Where a job involves a hazard you are unsure about, or a surface you cannot afford to damage, stop and get qualified help.
Using the content
You are welcome to read CleaningHQ, to link to it, and to use what you learn. What is not permitted is systematic copying: scraping, bulk extraction, republication, or use of the catalogue as training or retrieval data for machine-learning systems or derived datasets.
The restriction is not decorative. This catalogue’s value is that every claim carries its provenance and its uncertainty; stripped of those and mixed into a general corpus, the careful distinctions become confident-sounding sentences with nothing behind them, which is the exact failure mode the product exists to correct. Licensing enquiries: licensing@hekno.co.uk.
CleaningHQ does not reproduce source text. Third-party works cited here remain the property of their publishers, and the trademarks of standards and certification bodies remain theirs.
Commercial disclosure
Nothing on CleaningHQ is currently monetised. There are no adverts, no affiliate links and no sponsored content anywhere on this site.
The rules that will apply if that changes are already built into the product rather than promised here: a commercial arrangement can never influence a safety state, an evidence level or a recommendation; commercial content is editorially subordinate and separately labelled; and hazard pages carry none at all. Those are enforced in code, and the software refuses to enable monetisation while the site is in private beta. Editorial independence.
Availability
CleaningHQ is provided as it is, without warranty that it will be available, complete or free of error. It is currently in private beta and its content is still being built and verified. Records are added, revised and occasionally withdrawn as sources are read.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
