“Non-stick” is a description of behaviour, not a material, and that matters the moment cleaning advice is given. PTFE, ceramic-style coatings, seasoned iron and vitreous enamel all release food and all fail differently, so a rule proven on one does not transfer. THIS RECORD DELIBERATELY DOES NOT SAY WHICH COATING IT IS. The manufacturer documentation read for it says “non-stick coating” and nothing more, and naming a polymer the source never named would be inventing chemistry to sound authoritative. What it does establish is mechanical: the coating is damaged by ABRASION and by METAL, so metal utensils and abrasive cleaning materials are excluded, and steel wire and hard-bristle brushes are excluded from the appliance interior for the same reason. The rest follows from protecting a thin surface layer. Stuck residue is loosened by soaking rather than scrubbed off. Persistent fat is dissolved with a degreaser rather than scoured. A dishwasher is permitted by this manufacturer, which makes sense once the failure mode is understood — a machine does not abrade, a scouring pad does. Damage is cumulative and not reversible: once a coating is scratched through, no product restores it.
